Description
Pinekeeper’s Piñon Drawing Salve honors the intelligence of the forest — where healing begins at the surface and moves inward. At its heart is sustainably wild-harvested piñon pine resin, revered across the Southwest. Combined with bentonite clay and activated charcoal, it helps draw out splinters, infection, and impurities while promoting the skin’s natural healing process.
When a pine is wounded, it releases resin to seal the injury, fend off infection, and begin the slow work of repair. That same living intelligence forms the core of this salve — a tree’s healing translated into human hands. The resin is solar-infused into jojoba oil then blended with beeswax and shea butter to create a grounding, breathable base that softens and shields while the herbs and minerals do their quiet work. A forest-born synergy of pine, cedarwood, tea tree, rosemary, frankincense, and myrrh essential oils deepens the balm’s cleansing and clarifying properties.
Formulated for Optimum Potency
Solar-Infused Resin & Oils
Herbs and resins are slowly infused in jojoba oil over several weeks using the sun’s gentle warmth, preserving a full range of active constituents while honoring traditional preparation methods.
- Piñon Pine Resin (Pinus edulis): Wild-gathered from the forests of the Southwest, this aromatic resin is known for its antimicrobial, astringent, and protective qualities. Traditionally used in folk salves to draw out splinters or other minor intrusions and to support the skin’s natural defenses. Learn more about the piñon pine tree on the Forest & Field Dispatch.
- Bentonite Clay: A volcanic ash-derived mineral known for its strong adsorptive properties. Commonly used to help bind and lift impurities from the skin’s surface.
- Activated Charcoal: A porous carbon material with a long history of use in topical care to trap excess oils, debris, and toxins, supporting clarity and skin balance.
