About Us

Forest-Grade Medicine for the Ecozoic Era

Ecozoica Apothecary was born of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains — a place where desert meets forest and myth meets matter. At its heart, Ecozoica is about re-enchantment: restoring the sacred connection between humans and the living Earth through plant medicine. The word Ecozoic speaks to a new era — one of ecological consciousness and right relationship with the wild world.

Here, healing is not a product to purchase but a practice of participation — a dialogue between body and Earth. Our work bridges the mythic and the medicinal: the names are archetypes, the plants are teachers, and the process is alchemy. Crafted off-grid and in reverence to the living land, Ecozoica is medicine for those remembering how to belong.

We call our work forest-grade medicine — herbal formulas crafted in reciprocity with the land, made by hand and sunlight, without extraction from the wild web that sustains us. Every oil, salve, and tincture is solar-infused, small-batch, and built from plants we’ve met in their own habitats — the medicine of place, distilled through time and care.

Ecozoica is our offering to this turning age — medicine for a world learning to heal itself, crafted for those remembering they are part of the forest.

Our Promise

  • Handcrafted off-grid in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains
  • Ethically wildcrafted and organically sourced herbs
  • Solar-infused oils and small-batch production
  • Reusable, recyclable, and compostable packaging
  • No synthetics, parabens, or artificial fragrances — ever

Our Three-Fold Mission

  1. To foster nature-connected living and engaged local communities
  2. To increase education and access to herbal medicine in rural Southern Colorado
  3. To cultivate climate resilience through sustainable land stewardship practices and minimal environmental impact production model

By choosing herbal medicine, you’re not just nurturing your health—you’re deepening your relationship with the land that sustains us. Every remedy is a bridge back to the wild, crafted to honor nature’s innate ability to nourish, heal, and restore.

From field to formula, we preserve the integrity of every plant through ethical wildcrafting and sustainable formulation practices that respect both nature and tradition.

At Ecozoica, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s a way of life. Our off-grid apothecary runs entirely on solar power and wood heat, minimizing our carbon footprint. We avoid plastic in our products and production. Any plastic used in shipping is repurposed from our own deliveries.

By working in harmony with the elements, we craft herbal medicine in a way that reflects the balance we seek to restore in the world.

Our approach to herbal medicine is both grounded and intuitive, blending scientific research with the deeper wisdom of plant-spirit connection.

We believe medicine extends beyond its physical form. Each remedy is crafted with intention, guided by both empirical knowledge and the relationship we cultivate with the plants themselves. This connection informs every stage of our process, shaping how we harvest, formulate, and share our medicine.

Ecozoica is more than an apothecary—it’s a movement to reconnect people with the land and the traditions of herbal healing.

We foster community connections by collaborating with local retailers, participating in markets and events across southern Colorado and northern New Mexico, and hosting educational classes. Through these efforts, we aim to empower individuals with the knowledge and resources to integrate herbal medicine into their lives.

We follow an ancient principle: the land provides what is needed. Our remedies are rooted in the Sangre de Cristo region, offering hyperlocal medicine that is deeply tied to place.

By prioritizing regional plants and climate-adaptive practices, we are part of a larger movement toward regenerative healing—one that honors ecological resilience while addressing the environmental challenges of our time.
