Description
A plant-powered balm formulated to support skin resilience through life’s everyday bumps, scrapes, and outdoor adventures. Whether you’re weaving through brambles, working with your hands, or tending to tender skin, this earthy, aromatic salve delivers time-honored plant allies to soothe, heal, and condition the skin’s natural barrier.
Made with solar-infused oils of wildcrafted yarrow, chaparral, calendula, and mullein flower, this salve draws on the combined actions of herbs known for their antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, astringent, and vulnerary properties. A blend of essential oils—tea tree, lavender, rosemary, frankincense, and geranium—provide additional cleansing, soothing, and restorative properties.
Formulated for Optimum Potency
Solar-Infused Herbal Oils
Each herb is slowly infused in golden jojoba oil over several weeks using the heat of the sun—a traditional preparation method that extracts a full range of plant compounds while maintaining the herbs’ energetic integrity.
- Yarrow (Achillea millefolium): A classic wildland herb known for its astringent and styptic properties. Yarrow supports skin regeneration and is traditionally used to help tighten tissue and slow minor bleeding.
- Chaparral (Larrea tridentata): A bold, resinous desert shrub with potent antimicrobial and antioxidant qualities. It helps guard against microbial imbalance on the skin’s surface and is revered in desert herbalism for topical use on compromised skin.
- Calendula (Calendula officinalis): This golden flower is rich in flavonoids and resins that help soothe irritation, stimulate repair, and calm inflammatory processes. Calendula is considered one of the premier vulnerary herbs in Western herbalism.
- Mullein Flower (Verbascum thapsus): A softening, moistening herb often used for dry, cracked, or wind-exposed skin. Mullein’s gentle nature makes it a perfect harmonizer in this formula, supporting comfort and tissue pliability.
Essential Oils:
A balanced blend of tea tree, lavender, rosemary, frankincense, and geranium offers additional cleansing, soothing, and toning actions while lending the balm a grounding, forest-meets-floral aroma. These oils are known in topical formulas for their synergistic effects in maintaining skin health and balance.
Beeswax & Vitamin E:
Beeswax locks in moisture and provides a breathable protective barrier, while vitamin E acts as a natural preservative and supports skin elasticity and regeneration.
Directions for Use
Apply to clean, dry wounds such as cuts, scrapes, abrasions, and minor burns after bleeding has stopped and a protective scab or barrier has begun to form. For best results, use after initial wound care with the Sand & Summits Wound Powder. This salve is designed to support healing, nourish skin, and reduce scarring. Reapply as needed, especially after washing or when the wound feels dry. For external use only.
