Most homes destroyed by wildfires are initially set ablaze by embers and small flames. By decreasing the vulnerability of the home and the immediate surroundings (referred to as the “home ignition zone“), the likelihood of the home surviving a wildfire significantly improves. Assessments are used to identify vulnerabilities, allowing homeowners to take proactive measures to reduce fire risk and protect their homes.

For a single structure, an assessment costs between $150-$250. The cost estimates go up for properties with multiple structures.
